About the Owner

Mark Forge grew up in Worcester, MA to parents Rudy and Phyllis Forge. His father and mother worked in municipal roles.  Rudy Forge, his father, was well known as Worcester City Treasurer, President of Worcester Musicians Union and an active CPA.  His mother Phyllis Forge was a Spencer, MA Elementary School teacher for more than 30 years.

Both of his parents instilled in him an incredible love of family, hard work, integrity and respect for others.

Growing up Mark  spent his weekends either at his mother’s childhood home farm in Spencer, MA or with his father’s parents in South Boston. As he grew up, he saw first generation immigrants and Massachusetts founding family members teach them hard work, solid values, diverse and unique skills.

Mark enjoyed the farm life and learned all aspects of the farm. He grew livestock as well as an extensive vegetable and flower garden. 

It was  his love for his parents and farm life that inspired him to work while he was in school.  MSF Landscapes was born in the 1970’s while Mark was attending St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury, he  wanted to help pay for his educations and get a head start on life.

Mark started his business with a truck and a lawn mower. His motivation to better himself and help his parents led them to expand his business while he was attending the College of the Holy Cross. 

By the time Mark was graduating college he received a great offer to join IBM’s management program. While Mark was pleased and honored with this opportunity, he loved what he was doing with his landscape snow removal business more. He realized landscape and snow removal was his true calling.
